How I got here

tiny sparkHow did I get here? Someday you’ll hear the long version but for now, the short version will have to do. 🙂

I’ve always wanted to help people. When I was little I thought being a professional friend would be a great job. I studied psychology in college because the content was just so intriguing that I couldn’t find anything else that interested me as much.

I began coaching in 2006. I considered it more of a hobby back then, had vague dreams of turning it into a vocation at some point.

Flash forward to 2011: my marriage ended. It was a horrible, painful experience. There just isn’t a way to sugarcoat it.

But beauty rose from the ashes. I came back to life. I realized that I could hit the reboot button on me and my life.

I went back to school to get my coaching certification two months after my divorce papers were signed. Six months later, I launched my coaching business!

It has been an adventure, to say the least. But from the painful experience of a failed marriage, I realized I have a passion to help others who find themselves on the other side of what they thought life would be like. A passion to encourage and support people as they create a life that fits. An authentic life. A life that serves both themselves and the people they love.

I am in love with my life. It is not the life I imagined for myself, by any stretch! But it is a life that I am blessed to have. It is a life I wouldn’t change for anything. It is a life that has been created especially for me.
